[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] Eleanor was about to meet an Arbiter of the Etherium Council – a holder of the most powerful position available in all of Eos – and she felt just fine. [break][break] Eleanor sat in a carriage, watching the clouds drift by as she approached the Arbiter’s location. She’d changed out of her sporting outfit and into a simple sea-green dress she’d appropriated as formal wear. It wouldn’t do to make a bad first impression on one of the most powerful women in…well, possibly the entire world. She clacked her heels together, grimacing noticeably while glancing down at them. Eleanor hated the lack of flexibility heels forced on her, but she wasn’t here to fight. [break][break] “Now, you go out there and knock the Hell out of that Arbiter,” her mother had said, before hastily adding a “figuratively speaking” at the end of her lecture. Eleanor smiled. News of her battle prowess had reached even the Council, and if she played her cards right, she could potentially set herself up for life. [break][break] The carriage came to a stop. She was here. [break][break] Eleanor disembarked the carriage. The venue they’d chosen was a luxurious restaurant, as gaudy and gilded as anything else in Rosa. She looked around and took the scenery in – it was crowded, but the Arbiter had to be somewhere identifiable…

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] Aster folded both arms while she crossed one leg over the other in her seat. She wore her usual floral patterned kimono while wearing her sash with the council's emblem stitched onto it. As someone as classy looking like Aster, she'd of course set up a meeting in a restaurant this high classed, no less with the Sorcerer's League champion. She was a fan of the game and was more or less impressed with the champion's skillset. [break][break] In fact, she was more than impressed. It was just enough for Aster to personally contact the champion and make a simple deal: endorsement; more exposure to those that aren't familiar with the game but can use this as a gateway for the champion's skills to gain more exposure. Although Aster was a powerful being from her position, she had no trouble wanting to do something literally anyone else could do. [break][break] She surveyed the populated restaurant to see if the champion already entered. Soon enough, she spotted the figure not to far off. Aster rose a hand in the air and waved it in the air with a soft smile. [break][break] "Over here, Ms. Alcott! And might I add that you look rather stunning in that dress!"

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] When she heard the Arbiter’s voice, Eleanor turned around. Was that the Arbiter over there? She looked far too young to be an Arbiter. Nevertheless, she held the sash – living proof of her status. Ellen pushed the question to the back of her mind and walked towards the table. [break][break] Once she heard the Arbiter’s remark, she stopped. “Why thanks – I mean thank you, Your Excellency,” she said, making sure to curtsy slightly. “It’s the best I could do on such short notice. Your Excellency deserves nothing but the best.” [break][break] “Speaking of which, what is Her Excellency’s name? I’m afraid you have me at a disadvantage here.” Eleanor gave the Arbiter her best fake smile. “Perhaps I’ve heard of you from somewhere?”

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] Aster rose an eyebrow while maintaining her small friendly smile as she was being addressed. "Well, well, well, and here I was, thinking you wouldn't have any sort of manners. Silly of me to judge a book by its cover, I suppose." She said with a chuckle, as if she were actually amused. However, it was nothing more than just a small josh at the champion. [break][break] The woman couldn't help but tilt her head in slight confusion, but still keeping her smile when the champion asked for her name. "I'm one of the three Arbiters that help keep this city from furthering itself into chaos, yet you don't know my name? I'm shocked." She dramatically gasped, placing a hand on her heart. [break][break] The small act was quickly thrown off with a simple giggle while shaking her head. "You may call me Aster, just for the sake of keeping the atmosphere more casual and comfortable on your end. Though, I wouldn't mind you keep calling me Your Excellency." She said. [break][break] "Now then, I'll just go straight to the point on why I wanted to talk to you. To keep it simple, I'm rather a big fan of the Grand Magic Games and I've been keeping an eye you for a while. I'm impressed by your skills and what you can do, therefore I've decided to make an offer: I'd like to endorse you; give your skills more exposure and recognition. Make you more well-known outside of Eos." She explained.

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] When Aster acted hurt that Eleanor had neglected her name, Eleanor had a miniature heart attack. She genuinely didn’t mean to snub her – she didn’t like to snub anyone, especially someone whose hand was metaphorically feeding her. Fortunately, before Eleanor could justify herself, Aster quickly dismissed it as a jest. [break][break] “Of course, Your Excelle – Aster.” Eleanor smiled. “It’s quite flattering, knowing that I have admirers in such high places.” Eleanor bowed slightly. It wouldn’t do to display any sort of ingratitude, either. [break][break] “I accept your endorsement, Miss Aster,” Eleanor said, trying not to glower at the praise she was receiving. “Although I suppose you’d need me to put it down in writing, once the formalities are over.” [break][break] “I am curious, though – how exactly are you going to make me more famous than I already am?”

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] Aster made a satisfied nod while she sighed in content. "Ah, I'm glad. I was actually a little nervous if you were to say no, but it's a good thing that's not the case." She said. "Writing will make it official, but I needed a verbal confirmation first before anything else." She explained with another nod. [break][break] She leaned forward with both hands now resting on the table and folded together. "Well, there's nothing wrong with getting more recognition than with what you already have. After all, there's no such thing as having too much of anything if you know what you're doing." She explained with her smile widening a little. "Think about it. You'll grow more outside of Eos. Everywhere you go, even if it's outside of Eos, people will recognize you for your skills and prowess as a champion. Just think about it for a moment." She said. [break][break] "It may seem a little... useless when you first hear this. 'What's the point? I'm already famous as is.' However, this may get you into bigger deals, deals you wouldn't even imagine. And all under my management at that too, if you will." Aster made another nod, her smile only faltering just a bit. [break][break] "That said, I'll do everything in my power to make sure this endorsement will succeed and propel you into bigger deals and a much better future." She said. Leaning back, she reached for a black suitcase just behind her and rested it on her lap. It took her a few seconds to open it, bring out a pen and a stack of papers stapled together, and lay both items in front of the champion. "Right here," She paused for a moment to point at the dotted line before continuing. "is where you'll be signing. I do suggest you look it over if you're absolutely positive that you want to do this as an official agreement."

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] Eleanor didn’t question Aster’s authority and influence for a second, so hearing that Aster was powerful enough to make her influential outside of Eos came as no surprise to her. Whoever ruled Eos ruled the beating heart of Serra, and thus wielded immense power over individuals even outside it. This was an opportunity that she’d probably never get again, if she let it pass by her. [break][break] “Alright, then…” Eleanor appeared to give the document a good once-over; however, that was to disguise the fact that she was reading it meticulously. Any document was easy when you were a speed-reader. She ran her eyes over the document again, making sure to check for anything she might’ve missed, then took the pen and signed the document. [break][break] There was a moment of silence between the two. Finally, Eleanor spoke. [break][break] “So…what now?”

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] "Beautiful! It looks like things are official now, you'll now be under my management for endorsement." Aster cheered as she took the signed paper and pen and stuck it back into the briefcase. Setting the briefcase next to her seat, she looked back at the champion while maintaining her smile. [break][break] "Well, we're in a restaurant after all. It wouldn't make sense to have a meeting without having a meal to fill up our stomachs now, would it?" She asked while picking up a menu card and opened it. [break][break] "And while we're here with our meals, I could use this time to get to know you a little better. Since I'm endorsing you, I think it'd be expected for us to meet a little more often and see who I'm really talking to behind that champion title." Aster explained. Putting the menu card down, she rose a hand to call over a waiter to place in her order. [break][break] "Ah yes, I'd like to order rice with honey garlic teriyaki sauce." She said, pointing at the menu before closing it. While the waiter took down the woman's order, he'd then await for the champion to make an order of her own, assuming that she would.

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] Eleanor took her seat. She wasn’t exactly hungry, but eating seemed like the polite thing to do. “I’d like some mushroom pasta, please,” she said to the waiter, smiling at him. This was her first time here, so she had no idea what to expect from the food – although, given the price tags on some of them, she expected at least serviceable quality. [break][break] “Very well, Ms. Aster. What would you like to know about me?” Eleanor said, straightening her position and smiling. “I’m afraid I’m not very interesting; all I know is how to fight.” Which was an understatement, but she was trying to maintain a veneer of modesty here.

[nospaces] [attr="class","opmind"] [attr="class","opmindblurb"] [attr="class","opmindblurb1"] With the waiter taking down the champion's order, he gave the two women a courteous nod and small smile before he would head off to the kitchen to give the chef their orders. [break][break] Meanwhile, Aster planted both elbows on the table and resting her chin in between her hands, basically cupping her face. "Nonsense. Interesting or not, I'd still like to know the person wearing the title... AND the person I'm working with." She explained with a shrug. "But..." She trailed off for a moment, at the moment currently talking to herself in ponder before continuing. There were a few questions she wanted to ask, she just didn't know where to start. [break][break] "Well for starters, tell me what made you get into the league. Was it just for the hell of it or is it something deeper than anyone would expect?" Aster cooed with a grin. It was most likely one of the biggest questions she wanted to know about, but she wasn't expecting anything shocking if it weren't the case of something she wouldn't expect.
